Indus Valley Civilization
A lost civilization ahead of its time
The Indus Valley Civilization was one of the earliest and most advanced civilizations. People lived in well-planned cities with straight roads, brick houses, and marketplaces. They were skilled in farming, trade, pottery, and making jewelry. Cities like Harappa and Mohenjo-daro show how organized and intelligent they were.
Their drainage system was highly developed and one of the best features of the civilization. Houses and streets were connected with covered drains to carry away dirty water, showing that people cared a lot about cleanliness and hygiene. The civilization later declined because of floods, climate change, and drying rivers, but it still represents the rich culture and intelligence of ancient people.
